Show NC: A.I assisted code generation for React- "skip boilerplates"

  • @ganarajpr @chaya_stroppa I really liked the demo. I'm totally on to react native these for creating my prototypes and I can actually relate to use case where this package completely fits in. I'm going to give it a shot. Kudos :+1:

  • Perfect! Can't wait to see where this goes!

@Rohit-Agarwal There is learning involved. The current component recognition system is a Neural Network. There is no inbuild "online learning" mechanism yet. But that is something we are planning adding.

    Component recognition system? Please explain.
A neural net implies something statistical.
Don't see what choice in your system needs to be statistical.

I would suggest to Wikipedia (artificial neural network). You will understand what it does, it's capability and use cases.. Further more what we are trying to build and the longterm vision.

I am not a fan of Wikipedia (sorry to say)

  • @Rohit-Agarwal Irrespective of whether the product fits into a classical definition of AI, it is good work. It requires a fair amount of courage to believe in a novel idea and the perseverance to actually build it out. I'd love it if we could keep the conversations here positive. That's the only way to encourage new thoughts and build a vibrant product community.

Also, I don't know much about AI, so if there are approaches that you think would be useful in this direction - recognizing patterns from UX mockups, I'd genuinely love to learn about them. Thanks!

  • I second @jasim. Constructive criticism is what we want to promote here. Let's really avoid escalating conversations into flame wars.

    Love the approach, BTW.

  • Paras, Jasim,

    I hear both your voices,
and it creates a quandary in my head.
One the one hand, I don't really see how code gen needs stats.
On the other, I haven't really had the level of interest to explore the link
so I'm speaking of the top of my hat and in rather general terms,
which is generally not a good idea, I have found.
So kudos to both of you guys for bravely pointing out my folly
and I promise to keep it fair and lovely in future.
Please don't hold this infraction against me,
    or at least minimally so.
BTW, in terms of political leanings,
I'm all for women's lib in the technical/engineering field.
I think we have too few women in our field,
and we should all do whatever we can
to help each other succeed, together.
FWIW, Sheryl Sandberg has written a great book in this topic.
Since we're on the topic of females in power roles,
Jhumpa Lahiri has also written a great book on an unrelated topic.
    Uppity women unite! :-)

Coming back to my origional question
which was, by no means, confrontational,
what is a component recognition system?
Are you trying to automatically decide
what kind of UI components to use in an app
based on some higher level inputs?
I could see that requiring a search
which could be done with a neural net.
