Generating design heuristics for emerging tech
While this post talks about generating a set of guidelines for weeding out usability bugs in products that make use of emerging tech like VR headsets, wearables and the like, it also subtly points out the importance of having a strong set of heuristics for products at large.
So what kind of approach do you guys follow, when it comes to evaluating usability bugs in your products?
One study that I really like is the rule of 5 http://www.nngroup.com/articles/why-you-only-need-to-test-with-5-users/
It says you just need 5 users to discover majority of usability flaws in your products.1
